Bayelsa United Football Club has congratulated Premium Trust Bank on the commissioning of its new branch at Edepie, along the Yenagoa-Mbiama Road.

The branch was officially inaugurated on Monday, August 31, by the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri.

Governor Diri cut the tape to formally open the facility in the presence of dignitaries, customers and stakeholders of the Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament (Prosperity Cup).

Chairman, Management Board of Bayelsa United, Dr. Peter Singabele, in a statement, said the new branch underscores the bank’s confidence in the state’s economy and its commitment to financial inclusion.

Singabele said Premium Trust Bank has been a dependable partner of the Prosperity Cup, adding that its interventions have helped grow the tournament’s brand and football in Bayelsa.

He cited the bank’s donation of a coaster bus to Bayelsa Queens FC as an intervention that raised the team’s morale and enhanced its performance.

He said: “Your commitment to growth and service in Bayelsa State is commendable, and we are proud to have you as part of the Prosperity Cup family. This expansion will bring banking closer to our players, supporters, vendors and communities along the Mbiama-Yenagoa corridor.”

Singabele noted that private sector involvement is essential for sustainable sports development, youth empowerment and growth of small businesses around football.

He said the new branch would expand access to banking services for residents, traders and other football stakeholders in the area.

“Today, we celebrate a partner that believes in Bayelsa. Premium Trust Bank’s decision to open this new branch shows faith in our people. More branches means more prosperity for Bayelsa,” he added.

He congratulated the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Mr. Emmanuel Emefienim, its management and staff, and pledged Bayelsa United’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the bank.
