The United Correspondents Chapel and New Waves Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa State Council, have expressed condolences to Mr Etete Enideneze, Editor of the Bayelsa State Newspaper Corporation’s New Waves, following the death of his father, Pa Sylvanus Moab Etete.
The two chapels, led by their chairmen, Comrade Ekaunkumo Amgbare of UCC and Desire Oruwari of New Waves, paid a condolence visit to Enideneze at his residence in Agudama-Epie, Yenagoa.

Amgbare, while speaking on behalf of UCC members, described death as an unavoidable part of life and encouraged the bereaved editor to find comfort in God and the legacy of his late father, who lived beyond 90 years.
He noted that Enideneze had established himself as a prolific writer whose contributions had influenced society, saying the journalist shared some of the admirable qualities of his father, who was known for his work as a fashion designer and entrepreneur.

The UCC chairman pledged the chapel’s support for the family during the funeral and called for the burial arrangements to be communicated to the union.
Oruwari said New Waves Chapel was deeply saddened by the death of Pa Etete. He conveyed the chapel’s sympathy to Enideneze and his family, praying that God would grant them the strength to bear the loss and give the deceased eternal rest.
In his response, Enideneze expressed gratitude to members of both chapels for their show of solidarity and support.
He recalled that his father played a significant role in his upbringing, providing sound education and instilling good moral values despite being a vocational practitioner.

The bereaved editor described his father as a disciplined, hardworking, resourceful and generous entrepreneur who extended his care beyond his immediate family.
“My father’s house was a home for all. He took care of both his biological children and relatives. His children’s friends were his children. He never discriminated against anyone,” he said.
