Youths of Agorogbene community in Sagbama local government area of Bayelsa State have pledged support for the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) candidate for Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Prince Kelvin Amgbare.
The youths made the pledge when they paid a courtesy visit to Amgbare at his residence in Ogobiri Town.
The visit, the group said, was to chart a common front and appeal to stakeholders and youths in Ward 11 to support one of their own.
Amgbare, popularly known as Daddy Kay, described the visit as an opportunity for youths to take their destiny in their own hands.
He said the challenge of youth unemployment was part of what informed his decision to contest for a seat in the State House of Assembly.
He said: “Only the youths truly understand what youth employment means.”
He reaffirmed his readiness to serve and to champion a stronger voice and better representation for young people.
Amgbare said support for his aspiration does not require anyone to defect from his political party, urging stakeholders to remain in their parties while backing “The Creek Son” in the election.
The youths described Amgbare as accessible, approachable and available, saying his commitment and willingness to listen to the people stood him out.
They promised to mobilise for his victory in the forthcoming election, saying he would prioritise the welfare and development of youths and the people of Ward 11.
