NCDMB Calls for Collaboration to Drive Investment in Niger Delta

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has emphasised the need for strategic partnerships and coordinated investment to unlock the economic potential of the Niger Delta region.

The Board stated this at the 2026 Niger Delta Economic and Investment Summit which held from September 15-17, 2026, at the Obi Wali International Cultural Centre in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The summit, themed “Unlocking the Niger Delta’s Economic Potential for Sustainable Investment,” focused on strategies for accelerating investment and ensuring sustainable economic growth in the region.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE, FIPS), represented by the Director, Legal Services, Mr. Naboth Onyesoh Esq., said regional integration and shared infrastructure were imperative for sustainable development.

Engr. Ogbe noted that the Board’s 16 years of implementing the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act has demonstrated the impact of local content in strengthening indigenous businesses, driving industrialization, building local skills and technology, creating employment and deepening value retention.

He urged governments, the private sector, development partners and other stakeholders to work together to promote regional trade and create an enabling environment that will position the Niger Delta as a competitive economic growth corridor.
