The management of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, has suspended three undergraduates of the Faculty of Law for two academic years over examination malpractice.
The affected students are Isong Ugwu, Gad Nwosu and Roseline Nnamani.
Registrar of the university, Mr Ambrose Ugwu, announced the decision in separate memos dated Monday, August 10, 2026, addressed to the affected students.
He said the suspension, which took effect from June 25, 2026, will last until June 24, 2028.
Ugwu said the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, acting on behalf of the University Senate, approved the recommendations of the Senate Examinations Malpractice Committee.
He directed the students to hand over any university property in their possession to their respective Heads of Department and vacate the campus immediately.
The registrar added that the students’ sponsors and the National Universities Commission, NUC, had been notified.
He said the suspended students will be required to apply for readmission after the expiration of the suspension in June 2028.
Meanwhile, another student of the Faculty of Law, Mr Goodluck Iwuamadi, was exonerated of examination malpractice allegation, in line with the committee’s recommendation.
